Wig Tools

Usually Required:

  • Wide tooth comb (shark tooth comb) : Detangling wigs
  • Wig grip : keeping wig on your head
  • Hair straightener with heat settings : Low settings required for regular synthetics – 160 F.
  • Wig block (wig stand) : For combing / styling wig
  • Pins , t pins : Securing the wig to your wig stand, so you can comb it.
  • Hair scissors : Required to trim bang wigs. Needed to cut long wigs.
  • Fine tooth comb : For styling wigs, straightening out kinks in synthetic fibers.
  • Hair Snap Clips: For securing your long hair inside your wig cap.
  • Hair Clips : For securing your wig hair while styling.

For Lace Wigs:

  • Silicone scar tape : Place it inside of the wig’s lace. It will simulate your scalp. It is not needed if you are bald.
  • Ebin Hold adhesive spray (maximum black can) : Only needed if you want the lace to look more flawless, if the lace is loose, and if you have wig sideburns that need gluing down.
  • Pinking Shears: Only needed if you dont get a precut lace wig. Cut 1/4 inch from wig’s hairline.
  • Skin Protector: Only needed if you use adhesive spray or glues, and for sensitive skin.
  • Concealer Powder: Needed if your wig’s lace doesn’t match your scalp/ skin color. Helps hide wig knots as well.

For Synthetic Wigs:

  • Thinning shears: For thick , high density synthetic wigs.
  • Handheld steamer: For low heat synthetics, and for using curling rods to style.
  • Silicone wig spray/serum : To help combat tangles.
